Spectrum-to-space mapping with 0.36 – 0.4 THz on-chip transceiver for one-shot localization
2021
In this article, we demonstrated the single-shot 1D and 2D localization of wireless nodes using spectrum to space mapping principle by utilizing dual-port frequency dispersive antennas. The system is realized on an industry-standard 65-nm CMOS platform. The integrated chip operates within the frequency range of 360-400 GHz consisting of on-chip transceiver back-end. Using this implemented system, the angular localization accuracy of less than 2 degrees in 1D and 2D space is achieved. This approach significantly reduces the link discovery complexity in comparison with other existing iterative methods that involve time-consuming beam-scanning techniques.
