Femoral nerve neurilemmoma in the iliac fossa.

1993
: A rare case of femoral nerve neurilemmoma in the right iliac fossa, presenting as a firm tumour with local discomfort, is described. Modern imaging techniques could not differentiate the tumour. At explorative laparotomy the tumour was identified as a neurilemmoma of the femoral nerve and enucleated. The diagnosis should be borne in mind in cases of retroperitoneal tumours of unclear origin. Inappropriate surgery results in nerve damage and paralysis.
