Prenatal diagnosis of a spontaneous dural sinus thrombosis

We present the case of a 31-year-old woman, gravida1, who was referred at 22 weeks’ of gestation toour center to explore abnormalities revealed by herroutine second-trimester ultrasound examination. Thepatient had an unremarkable medical and obstetricalhistory. The couple was not consanguineous. The firstscreening ultrasound scan, at 13 weeks, was normal.At 14 weeks, genetic serum screen for Down syndromeyielded normal results placing the fetus at low risk forchromosomal abnormalities. A routine second-trimesterultrasound revealed an abnormal intracranial mass.The ultrasound scan performed at our center at23 weeks revealed a 9-mm hyperechoic area withina hypoechoic area triangular in shape, about 4 cm
