The scientific literature describes isolated cases of Reye syndrome in adults. General practitioners who encounter a similar phenomenon in their daily activities should take into account the fact that when nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic drugs are prescribed for patients with acute respiratory infections and with certain concomitant diseases, acute pancreatic necrosis and/or acute liver failure may occur. The article presents a case confirming the above thesis
