IL-10 as a predictor of progress of the squamous intraepithelial lesions of the cervix: literature review

Background: The aim of this review is to evaluat the way how interleukin 10 (IL-10) of the progression of the intraepithelial leson of the uterine cervix. Description: researches were done by sources of Medline (Pubmed), Scielo articles related to the topic published between 1994 and 2012, which part was selected only by the relevance. Discussion: Concepts are covered, types of immune cells present and that are part of this immune process. The mechanism of action by which an antigen is captured by the immune system, being influenced by this and dividing it into subgroups TH0, TH1 and TH2. The concentration increase in IL-10 and profile change TH1 into TH2 response can be characterized as an aggravating clinician in women with high grade squamous intraepithelial lesions on the cervix. Introducao: O objetivo desta revisao foi avaliar a participacao da interleucina (IL) 10 na progressao das lesao intraepitelial do colo uterino. Descricao: Foram pesquisados em fontes de dados Medline (Pubmed), Scielo artigos relacionados ao tema publicados entre 1994 e 2012, selecionando-se apenas os relevantes. Discussao: Sao abordados conceitos, tipos de imunidade presentes e celulas que fazem parte deste processo imunologico. O mecanismo de acao pelo qual um antigeno e captado pelo Sistema Imunologico, sendo influenciado por este e, dividindo-se, assim, em subgrupos TH0, TH1 e TH2. O aumento nas concentracoes da IL-10 e a mudanca do perfil TH1 para TH2 pode se caracterizar como um agravante clinico em mulheres com lesao intraepitelial de alto grau em colo uterino.
