The present invention is mainly a metallic substrate surface processing method comprising the steps of: (i) providing a metal substrate having surface hydroxyl groups; (Ii) contacting the metal substrate with a solution of at least one organophosphorus compound so as to permit reaction of said hydroxyl groups on the surface of the metal substrate with said organophosphorus compound to form a monomolecular layer on the surface and a second layer organophosphorus physisorbed molecules partially crystallized, the resulting treated substrate is coated organophosphorus compound monomolecular form and physisorbed crystallized form. Furthermore, it aims a treated metallic substrate obtainable by this process, the corresponding solution and its use for treating metal substrates to improve their tribological properties during their forming, in particular deep drawing, and their resistance to corrosion.
