Cavitation Erosion of Three Typical Components in Aero-engine Fuel System

In order to study the cavitation erosion mechanism of aero-engine fuel system,the failure analysis of three components in aero-engine fuel system,which were made of TC6 titanium alloy,ZL101 aluminum alloy and 2Cr3WMoV steel respectively,was processed.The research results show that the strength and microstructure of the material affect the microcosmic behavior of cavitation dramatically.There is"phases select"behavior in all of the three alloys in jet fuel.Those phase which is soft or with poor tenacity is usually destroyed first.This causes the surface strength decrease and the damage to be aggravated.In addition,the erosion corrosion usually occurs with the cavitation erosion in fuel system.So,the failure of components in aero-engine is usually caused by the complex mechanism of cavitation erosion and erosion corrosion in fact.
