Enlarged umbilical vein as a sign of portal hypertension: detection by lateral radiography.

An enlarged umbilical vein was detected on lateral chest radiographs of three patients with liver cirrhosis. It appeared as a round or lobulated shadow in fatty tissue of the anterior abdominal wall.
