Recommendation for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients during COVID-19 epidemic

OBJECTIVE: Breast cancer patients are affected by the disease or anti-tumor treatment,resulting in a state of low immunity,so they are one of the susceptible populations of the COVID-19 This paper provided diagnosis and treatment recommendations for breast cancer patients during the epidemic of COVID-19 METHODS: Articles were found in VIP,CNKI,PubMed from January 2014 to January 2020 with "COVID-19,breast cancer,guidelines,delaying,timeliness" as keywords In all,19 English papers and 12 Chinese papers were searched Choice criteria:(1)Delayed treatment for breast cancer surgery,chemotherapy,radiation,or endocrine therapy;(2)treatment of COVID-19;(3)Guidelines about breast cancer According to the criteria,20 papers were analyzed and reviewed RESULTS: Based on the current domestic epidemic situation,for patients with routine reexamination,the reexamination can be postponed when the condition is stable For advanced patients in the stage of maintenance treatment,the examination should be simplified appropriately according to the patient's symptoms and tumor load,focusing on the target lesions or organs with obvious symptoms For patients with endocrine therapy,targeted maintenance therapy,bone-related therapy,chemotherapy and radiotherapy,the treatment regimen should be maintained or adjusted according to the disease stage and treatment stage For breast cancer patients,the operation can be suspended for a short time If it is determined to perform the operation,the scope of the operation should be reduced as much as possible and the operation time should be shortened CONCLUSIONS: During the epidemic of COVID-19,the reasonable diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients should follow the guidelines Scientific protection should be provided for patients and medical staff
