The invention discloses an oil paper insulation electrical equipment aging state detection method based on a universal relaxation law. The oil paper insulation electrical equipment aging state detection method based on the universal relaxation law includes the steps: 1) connecting wires according to an instrument description; 2) arranging a parameter; 3) finishing a test and obtaining a frequency domain characteristic parameter f p according to an unfolded spectrum; 4) putting into a specified formula according to frequency domain characteristic parameter f p and an oil paper insulating temperature T, calculating and judging an insulating aging state, namely, a data processing (DP) value; 6) when an average degree of polymerization of the oil paper reduces to 500, considering the whole oil paper insulating electrical equipment to be in the middle of service life; considering the life of the oil paper insulating electrical equipment to be finished when the average degree of polymerization reduces to 250; and considering machinery intensity of the insulating paper to be almost zero when the average degree of polymerization reduces to 150. The oil paper insulation electrical equipment aging state detection method based on the universal relaxation law does not suspend a core, does not damage insulating materials, is free from sampling, can precisely evaluate an average degree of the polymerization DP value of the insulating paper and can judge an insulating aging state of the oil paper.
