Gold weights in upper eyelids for the correction of paralytic lagophthalmos
1986
Thirty-seven patients are reviewed almost ten months (mean) after implantation of gold weights in their upper eyelids for paralytic lagophthalmos. Good results were obtained in 23 cases; there was only one extrusion; three patients underwent secondary correction. More than half of the patients needed weights of 1.4 or more grams. The methods are described and the advantages and disadvantages discussed.
