Experimental Research and Modelling of Corbel Strengthened by Steel Accessory

The aim of the research program developed in Lodz is to find some suitable strengthening methods for corbels. Most elements with shear slenderness a c /h c = 0,5 ÷ 0,6 were presented in (Urban and Krawczyk 2017). Some corbels with a c /h c ≈ 0,3 were prepared and the results were partly published in (Urban et al. 2016). The subject of this paper is Corbel C – III strengthened by the steel accessory. The corbel was strengthened while the load was acting. The strain-load curves for the tested corbel and the reference one are presented. Concept of the model is presented with assumptions and equations necessary to calculate load capacity of the corbel.
