On the Coulomb interference in the elastic scattering of polarized protons on nuclei

The role of the Coulomb nuclear interference in the asymmetry arising in the elastic scattering of polarized protons is investigated by a phase-shift calculation, large effects are found for medium heavy nuclei and for energies in the range (75÷200) MeV. The meaning of the «polarization-asymmetry equality» in the interference region is briefly discussed.
