Distribution frequency analysis of HLA antigens in renal transplant recipients: a single centre study

2019
Objective To analyze the distribution frequency of HLA-A, B, DR and DQ antigens in patients waiting for renal transplantation. Methods The HLA antigens detection data of 791 recipients who recieved renal transplantation in the Organ Transplantation Department, Eighth Medical Center, General Hospital of the PLA during January 2017 and June 2018 were collected, and then the distribution frequencies of HLA-A, B, DR and DQ antigens were analyzed. Results There were 18 types of HLA-A antigens, among which the distribution frequencies of A2, A11 and A24 (9) (30.59%, 17.83% and 15.68%, respectively ) were higher than other HLA-A antigens, and the distribution frequencies of A2403, A34 (10) and A66 (10) were the lowest, all of which were 0.06%. There were 42 types of HLA-B antigens, among which B13 (12.64%) had the highest distribution frequencies (12.64%), and the distribution frequencies of B44, B41 and 40∶40 were the lowest, all of which were 0.06%. There were 16 types of HLA-DR antigens, among which DR15 (2), DR4 and DR12(5) had higher distribution frequencies (14.60%, 13.65% and 13.40%, respectively), and DR6 had the lowest distribution frequency (0.19%) and DR15 (2) had strong linkage reaction with DQ6 (1) (90.48%). There were 7 types of HLA-DQ antigens, DQ7(3) had the highest distribution frequency (24.91%) and DQ8(3) had the lowest distribution frequency (5.50%). Conclusions Among HLA-A, B, DR and DQ antigens in renal transplantation recipients, A2, B13, DR15 (2) and DQ7 (3) are the most frequently distributed antigens. Distribution frequency analysis of HLA antigens is helpful to find HLA matching donors. Key words: Renal transplantation; HLA antigen; Distribution frequency; Allele; Gene polymorphism
