Isothermal microcalorimetry : a versatile tool for the industrial laboratory

1992
The use of isothermal microcalorimeters as analytical tools in industrial laboratories is reviewed. Properties of heat conduction microcalorimeters are briefly discussed. Applications are illustrated by some examples; slow decomposition processes in pharmaceuticals, explosives, and solid fuels, studies of material compatibility, self discharge of batteries, cement hydration and sorption processes. Other applications such as polymerization reactions, processes in food and in the biotechnology field are also taken
