The Acute Toxicity of Gongyijing Tincture

To evaluate the safety of Gongyijing tincture,its acute toxicity was determined through oral administration,and it provided an evidence for clinical dosage,a comparative trial was taken on 40 mice which randomly divided into 2 equal groups with 10 females and 10 males according to maximum daily dose regimen design.One was treatment group which subjected to gastric perfusion with Gongyijing tincture of 40g per kg of body weight,the other was the control group which treated with physiological saline of 80mL per kg of body weight.The doses were administered twice.To determine the maximum daily dose and acute toxicity of Gongyijing tincture,the mice were observed 7 days after the medicine administered.The results showed that the maximum daily dose of Gongyijing tincture in mice through oral administration was 40g/kg which was equivalent to 100 times of daily dose in dairy cow,so it suggested that Gongyijing tincture was safety.
