Imidazolium ionic liquid functionalized nano dendritic CuAl2O4 for visible light-driven photocatalytic degradation of dye pollutant
2021
Abstract The conversion of waste into useful substances is a major concern in green chemistry. However, it is not easy to achieve because of the low reactivity of the materials, especially when using two non-reactive raw materials in a reaction. The reaction was catalyzed by the photoredox catalyst and showed compatibility for various organic dyes. This strategy has outstanding benefits such as high economic efficiency and tolerance of functional groups. The structure of CuAl2O4-NH2 became rough after amidation with 1-(4-carboxybutyl)-3-methylimidazolium bromide and a number of small pieces were generated around CuAl2O4-NH2 species after being functionalized by 1-(3-sulfopropyl)-3-methylimidazolium bromide ([SPMIM]Br) through the interaction of HSO3– and H2N–. Catalyst specifications were identified by various methods such as TGA, XPS, SEM, TEM, XRD, and ICP analyses.
