Treatment and Prognosis of Carcinosarcoma of the Ovary

Objective:To study the effective treatment and the prognostic factors of the carcinosarcoma of the ovary.Methods:A retrospective study was carried out to analysis the clinical data of six women with carcinosarcoma of the ovary.Results:All patients underwent surgical resection and adjuvant chemotherapy based on platinum and were followed up for 5-41months,One Ⅳ stage patient died after 29 months,other five Ⅲ stage patients were alive now.Conclusions:Radical correction followed by adjuvant chemotherapy based on platinum maybe an effective treatment to carcinosarcoma of the ovary.The clinicopathological stage was found to be the major prognostic factor for patient survival.
