Leukaemic Involvement of the Thymus in Children

1963
Twelve cases of childhood leukaemia with thymic involvement are reported. In five of these a radiologically abnormal thymic shadow preceded peripheral blood change. An abnormal thymic shadow was present in 15 per cent of leukaemic children who had chest radiographs. The recognition of this association may be a helpful point in the diagnosis of aleukaemic leukaemia in children, particularly after infancy.
