1993
: In the United States a patient has sued a doctor for failing to diagnose AIDS, resulting in a two-year delay before correct diagnosis and treatment. At least one similar case has been commenced in Australia and more are likely. The time has come when courts in this country are likely to find that failure to diagnose symptoms of HIV infection and AIDS will constitute negligence.
