A Waterflooding Multiplier-Based Method for Evaluating Waterflooding Process and Effect

A concept of waterflooding multiplier is proposed for quantitatively evaluating waterflooding process and degree, and how to calculate the multiplier is described in this paper. Then the method is verified using field wells, and the waterflooding multipliers of various layers are estimated and the distribution of waterflooding multipliers are analyzed in horizontal and vertical directions. Correlation studies show that waterflooding multiplier and oil saturation coincide well with each other, and the waterflooding multiplier can reflect waterflooding process more accurately. Finally, it is concluded that the waterflooding multiplier can be used to update waterflooding plan for reducing invalid water injection and improving waterflooding performance.
