Heme is an essential cofactor for almost all bacterial species but may cause severe toxicity upon elevated levels. In this study, we present a combined experimental and theoretical approach analyzing the temporal dynamics of heme detoxification and utilization in Corynebacterium glutamicum, which are orchestrated by the two two‐component systems ChrSA and HrrSA.
