Instrumente und ihre Namensgeber: Christian Casper Gabriel Kielland (1871–1941) und die Kielland-Zange

2010
In the mid-20th century, the Kielland forceps (also referred to as the “Nordic forceps”) and the Naegele forceps were the most commonly used instruments in obstetrics. In 1915, after 8 years of scientific and clinical development, the Norwegian obstetrician Christian C. G. Kielland (1871-1941) presented his forceps at a congress in Munich for the first time. His Kielland forceps were designed to optimize so-called “ HIGH forceps” applications.
