Blistering diseases in the elderly: Diagnosis and treatment

This article focuses on the most common blistering disorders that present in elderly patients. Blistering disorders can be broadly classified in the elderly into autoimmune, drug-induced, and secondary to systemic diseases. Autoimmune blistering diseases potentially can be fatal if they are not diagnosed and proper treatment is not instituted. This article discusses the demographics, clinical features, and the latest available diagnostic tests and treatment modalities in each of the blistering diseases.
