Deoxygenative coupling of 2-aryl-ethanols catalyzed by unsymmetrical pyrazolyl-pyridinyl-triazole ruthenium

Abstract A pyrazolyl-pyridinyl-triazole Ru complex was synthesized from unsymmetrical pyrazolyl-pyridinyl-triazole (PPT) skeleton ligand and characterized through X-ray crystallography. The corresponding heterogeneous pyrazolyl-pyridinyl-triazole Ru complexes on γ-Al2O3 were characterized through SEM, TEM, XRD and XPS. Both homogeneous and heterogeneous Ru catalysts revealed high activity for deoxygenative homocoupling of 2-arylethanols.
