ESTIMATION AUTOMATIQUE DE L'ORIENTATION RELATIVE: UNE APPROCHE DIRECTE BASEE SUR LA RESOLUTION DE SYSTEMES POLYNOMIAUX MULTIVARIABLES

2008
The calculation of the relative orientation for two successive positions of a camera with the help of the points of interests is the basis of key photogrammetric applications as well as computer vision ones. In this article is presented a new method of direct resolution of the rotation and the translation from 5 points. This method does not use the essential matrix, but requires a polynomial resolution, using the bases of Grobner, and behaves correctly with coplanar points. This method is also suitable for panoramic images, which is a significant comparative advantage.
