Differences in the Nasal Respiratory Function after the Treatment of Maxillary Cyst

2016
Objective:To observe the nasal resistance after medical combination treatments of maxillary cyst. Methods: 12 patients with maxillary cyst were selected, all cases were confirmed by sinus CT or MRI examination, disinfect both cheek's skin and oral vestibular mucosa. Operation should be taken under topical anesthesia or surface anesthesia, check the cases' nasal passages with transanal endoscopic microsurgery, withdraw the cyst fluid with a injector form the top flank of the nose. Then inject the drug of maxillary cyst(which mainly contains iodine and hexadecadro solution)with a proportion of 2:1(i.e., take out 2 ml cyst fluid, inject of 1 ml drugs, and so on). Cyst if can not be normally punctured can undertake the surgery with the assistance of image recorder. We should check the patients' nasal airway resistance (NAR), nasal volumes(NV), and minimalcross. Sectional area(MCA) using Eccovision Acoustic Rhinometer (HoodLabs, USA) and Anterior Rhinometer both before and after the treatments. Then deal the data with a computer. Results: 12 patients with maxillary sinus cyst came back to the hospital for a check of sinus CT check after treatment, compared with the data before the treatment, there are visible differences in general R(cmH20/LMi),general NV(cc) and MCA(cm2).
