Experimental Study on Measurement Accuracy and Response Characteristics of PFECT

At present, the experiments about measurement accuracy and response characteristics of the pure fiber electronic current transformer (PFECT) are still not enough. In this paper, the measurement accuracy and response characteristics of PFECT were tested by using the performance test platform of electronic current transformer. Based on the test platform, the characteristics of PFECT were measured at different current intensities and frequencies. The test results showed that when the current frequency is less than 2kHz, the measurement accuracy of PFECT is the most precise, and with the increase of frequency, the measuring error gradually increased. Meanwhile, at the same frequency, the greater the current, the greater the error A step response characteristic experiment was carried out on PFECT, and its results showed that when the step current was greater, the rise time of PFECT response was longer and the error of rise time was also increased. The conclusion of this paper provided some theoretical supports for PFECT measurement error compensation. At the same time, it provided a scientific basis for the development of relay protection scheme and parameter setting of PFECT power system.
