Epidemiology of Head Injury at Khon Kaen Hospital

We have studied retrospective data summan; at lRegional Hospital data center for headinjury diagnosis between 1 January 2001? 31 December 2003.We found total 2,360 cases visit our neuroclinicat outpatient department, there was an admission in every 3.2 case visit. The most common diagnosis wasopen wound of scalp(529 cases).VVe had total inpatient department 7,258 cases, the most commondiagnosis was diffuse brain inlury(1,195 cases).Average length of stay was 6,7 days and average treatmentcost was 28,364 Baht per case.By this result, we can overview details of head injury which we can use the result to improvemanagement and patient care system such as financial or other health resource management. This is alsothe baseline clinical information for future study.
