The present invention provides a polynorbornene-containing damping rubber production method, wherein a nature rubber and a norbornene monomer are adopted as raw materials, processes of blending and polymerization are sequentially performed so as to make polynorbornene be directly generated in the nature rubber substrate in an in situ manner, and the subsequent vulcanization process is performed to obtain a structure that the cross-linking structure formed through norbornene in situ polymerization produces micro phase separation with the nature rubber substrate and is uniformly distributed in the natural rubber cross-linked substrate, such that the technical problems that blending difficulty of the polynorbornene and the nature rubber substrate is high and the compatibility is low are solved, the damping performance and the damping temperature range of the product are superior to the damping performance and the damping temperature range of the existing product, and design and convenient regulation on the product performance can be achieved by adjusting the raw material mixing ratio, the polymerization process parameters and the cross-linking process parameters so as to obtain the products with various damping properties.
