Hippocampal microstructural damage and memory impairment in clinically isolated syndrome

2015
Memory impairment is correlated to hippocampal atrophy in multiple sclerosis (MS) but the substrate of early memory deficit, prior to atrophy, is unknown. We investigated whether early hippocampal alterations are already present at the stage of clinically isolated syndrome suggestive of MS (CIS) and whether they are related to memory performance.
