Synthesis and Characterization of Polyaniline Membrane

Dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid as an active agent and a dopant,ammonium persulfate as an oxidant,polyaniline/polyvinyl alcohol emulsion was prepared by emulsion polymerization.The polyaniline composite membrane was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),ultra violet-visible(UV-Vis)and cyclic voltammetry(CV).The experimental results show that the PANI particles can be dispersed evenly in the PVA matrix;the dosage of DBSA has effects on the conductivity and electrochemical properties of the PANI/PVA composites.When the ratio of n(DBSA)/n(AN)is set to be 1.03,the conductivity of PANI composite membrane is up to 1.28S/cm with the best electrochromic performance at room temperature.
