STUDY ON CHARACTERISTICS OF SODIUM SILICATE SOLUTION

2007
The characteristics of silicate sodium solution were thoroughly studied by use of Zatasizer 3000 electric potential granularity meter, Turbiscan infrared dispersion stabilometer, Novasina activity meter and Simulation equipment coupled Hydra-mechanics of shale (SHM). The results showed that silicate sodium concentration has great effect on grain distribution of silicate sodium solution, the average grains size of 7% silicate sodium solution is minimum among 3% to 9%, the Zata electric potential of silicate sodium particles is greatly affected by silicate sodium module and pH, silicate sodium can greatly decrease the permeability of shale and block or postpone filtrate invasion and pressure transmission, the amount of silicate sodium in solution should be lower than 7% in order to keep the stability of silicate sodium solution and cuttings dispersed system.
