Photoresponsive properties of silk / TiO2 hybrid nanostructures

Abstract The photoresponsive properties have been investigated in a biohybrid electrode based on muga silk nanoparticles. Muga silk nanoparticles were synthesized by the microwave method. The MSNP/TiO2/FTO biohybrid photoelectrodes were fabricated. The photoresponse of the biohybrid photoelectrodes was determined in a device under dark and light at different temperatures. The device was found to be active under illumination. Such photoresponse of the muga silk nanoparticle could serve in both environmental and biomedical applications.
