Education: everybody's business in aged care

The need for, the development and the structure of the Graduate Certificate and Certificate in Aged Care (Acute Care) are presented. These courses recognise the evolving role of residential care facilities in providing care for acutely ill residents who did not wish to be transferred to acute care hospitals. The input of each member of the partnership ensured the course maintained clinical relevance to all care settings, had academic integrity and focused on current best practice. (non-author abstract)
