Notice of Retraction A New System for Cooling and Gas Promoting Extraction Utilizing Carbon Dioxide

This paper introduces a new system utilizing carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) to promote gas extraction and to cool a mining face. Based on the phase transformation characteristics of CO 2 , this system chooses CO 2 as the secondary refrigerant to cool mining face; after absorbing heat from the mining face, low temperature CO 2 is injected into goaf, cooling goaf and improving desorption of oxygen (O 2 ) and methane (CH 4 ); gas mixed with CO 2 extracted from goaf is transported upward to a pressure swing adsorption machine to purify CO 2 ; the separated CO 2 is cycled back to a cooling system near the mining face and then injected into goaf, while the rest gas with high-concentration of CH 4 is provided to generate electricity. This system is a big project which can accomplish the functions such as cooling mining face, promoting gas extraction and reducing greenhouse gases discharge. It reduces the probability of gas explosion, and also decreases the discharge of CH 4 and CO 2 which is conformable to the requirements of energy-saving and environmental protection.
