Implantodontia como alternativa reabilitadora de agenesia unilateral de incisivo lateral superior: relato de caso

2019
Upper lateral incisor agenesis is a common abnormality in the development of permanent dentition. The rehabilitation of these dental elements is challenging due to their position in the aesthetic zone, the young age of patients and anatomical difficulties such as inadequate bone quantity. The aim of this study is to describe an alternative for the rehabilitation of unilateral agenesis of the upper lateral incisor. Patient TFS, female, 27 years old, sought care at the Clinic of the Extension Course in Implantology at the Dentistry School of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, having as main complaint “small and ugly tooth” when referring to element 52. After anamnesis, clinical examination, computerized tomography analysis, photographs and study models, a treatment plan for tooth extraction 52 and replacement of element 12 with an implanted prosthesis was outlined. For this, the implant was followed with immediate provisionalization and selective wear on the mesial tooth 13 to improve aesthetic proportions. The implant chosen was a cone morse 3.8mm x 11.5mm SIN Strong SW, with the prosthetic platform positioned 4mm above the cervical margin of the future prosthetic crown, insertion torque of 60N and ending with provisional restoration without cemented occlusal contacts on the universal abutment 3.3mm x 6mm x 2.5mm. It was concluded that, through correct diagnosis and planning, the treatment of such form of hypodontics in aesthetic area can be performed with dental implants with immediate provisionalization, ensuring an adequate transition to the final restoration after the bone repair period
