Pancreatic trauma is infrequent in the paediatric age group and is caused mainly by closed abdominal trauma. The most frequent cause is direct impact aga-inst a bicycle handlebar. Pancreatic injury is difficult to diagnose at an early stage, so the doctor should always have in mind the existence of this possibility when the-re is abdominal trauma, as complications arising from missed pancreatic injuries explain the high morbidity and mortality of these patients. We outline the case of a 10-year-old patient with abdominal pain of 12 hours of evolution after suffering abdominal trauma while ri-ding a bicycle.
