Serial evaluation of acute cerebral hyperperfusion by transcranial color-coded sonography.

2006
Abstract Using transcranial color-coded sonography (TCCS), we evaluated the acute changes in the hemodynamics of cerebral hyperperfusion in two cases. The mean flow velocity of the cerebral arteries increased at the onset of clinical symptoms, together with an increase in the regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF). In serial follow-up studies, the flow velocity gradually returned to normal in parallel with the normalization of the rCBF values. TCCS can be useful for evaluation of acute cerebral hyperperfusion.
