Drs Jacobs and Anhalt have compiled a list of cutaneous manifestations of systemic disease in the form of a pocketbook manual intended to serve dermatologists and internists. The book is divided into 20 sections, each of which is a morphologic "clue." Under each clue is a list of systemic conditions to suspect as the possible causes. The sections include entities such as erythema multiforme, telangiectasia, and urticaria, as well as subdivided sections on different types of papules and plaques. On each right-hand page, there is a column entitled "look for or order," which lists some of the diagnostic maneuvers, significant history points, and initial workup indicated for each particular condition. There is also an index containing all the conditions listed in the book, allowing the reader to look for the associated cutaneous findings in a given disorder.
