Fused mandibular third molar with supernumerary tooth: A rare case report

Fusion is a developmental anomaly characterized by the amalgamation of two usually dissevered tooth buds. The paramountcy of this case was in order that this fusion occurred in posterior permanent third mandibular teeth with a supernumerary tooth, which was impacted, while such a manifestation is more reported in maxillary anterior teeth, either in primary (0.5%) or permanent (0.1%) dentition. In an aforementioned article, we report an infrequent case of unilateral fusion of permanent mandibular third molar with supernumerary teeth in which a surgical intervention was carried out. The infrequency with which this entity appears, along with its involutes characteristics, often make it arduous to treat.
