Manage Inferior Epigastric Bleeding

When performing laparoscopic or robotic surgery, the inferior epigastric vessels can be disrupted particularly with trocar insertion causing significant bleeding. In this chapter we discuss the relevant anatomy of the inferior epigastric vessels and its relationship to trocar insertion. We also discuss techniques and maneuvers that will aid in dealing with bleeding from the inferior epigastric pedicle.
