iTrack Application for Autism: Supporting and Improving Safety Skills of People with Autism Spectrum Disorder

In this paper, a smartphone application "iTrack" is introduced for young people with autism that provides learning support and emergency support about safety skills related to fire and rain. Also, the application provides additional support to caregivers to promote collaboration between them. Our proposed application evaluated on two autistic individuals. Fire and rain safety skills were taught to children using video modelling via a smartphone. Single Subject Design (SSD), precisely, A-B design was used in this study along with maintenance phase to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed system. Results show that iTrack, provide assistance and improve learning related to fire and rain safety skills. Furthermore, autistic individuals feel satisfied and not annoyed by the use of the iTrack application.
