Cistadenocarcinoma seroso del ovario: a propÓsito de un caso con metástasis no asociadas a una siembra peritoneal

2003
Ovarian cancer is the third gynecological cancer. (80-90%) of ovarian malignancies becoming from mullerian epithelium. Metastases of this cancer are produced through the peritoneal cavity, recurrent metastatic disease like an isolated parenchymal lesion in a solid organ but in another sites are infrequent The objective of this report was to present a case of a patient who had a serious ovarian cystadenocarcinoma and had an isolated metastasis in the splenic parenchyma and another one in the pubic region after six years of the primary treatment, and to make a review of the literature. Conclusion: the treatment of these patients seems to be the surgical excision of the metastasis, been a part of a primary or secondary citorreductive surgery, with adjuvant chemotherapy. There is not enough experience to determine the best treatment to establish the prognosis.
