Quark Matter: Status and Challenges

Abstract The study of QCD matter under extreme temperature and/or density is a vibrant and challenging field. Much has been learned in the past year and a half - much more than can be summarized in a single talk. Consequently, I will focus here on a subset of the new results, hopefully identifying some of the key questions to be addressed in this exciting conference.
