Cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin for patients with HIE:a systematic review

2014
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin for patients with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).METHODS The Cochrane Library(Issue 1,2013),EMbase,PubMed,CBM, CNKI and VIP(from their inception to March2013)were searched for RCTs of cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin for patients with HIE.Two reviewers independently retrieved RCTs according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, assessed the methodological quality of included trials, and extracted data. The data analyses was performed by RevMan 5.16 software. RESULTS 19 RCTs involving 1 353 patients were ultimately identified. The results of Meta-analyses showed that effective rate of cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin was superior to control group[OR=4.56,95%CI(3.29,6.34),P0.01];the recovery time of clinical symptoms were shorter than control group;the NBNA score was higher than control group[MD= 3.68,95%CI(2.01,5.35),P0.01];the normal rate of skull CT was higher than control group[MD=5.98,95%CI(3.04, 11.74),P0.01].There were significant differences. There were no ARDs reports in two groups.CONCLUSION The results of Meta-analyses indicated that cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin for patients with HIE is effective and has good safety. However, due to the quality of included studies, more sample size, high quality of RCTs are needed.
