Air quality monitoring using nanosensors

Abstract This chapter deals with the monitoring of the air quality using nanosensors. Main air pollutants and their concentration limits fixed by national and international organizations are described. A study of the existing nanostructured materials for gas sensors are presented. These include 0D, 1D, 2D and 3D materials mainly focused in the development of resistive nanosensors. Then, several examples of field applications with commercial sensors and some recent research projects that use nanosensors for air quality monitoring are presented. By the end of the chapter future perspectives of nanosensors in this field are envised.
