PMR physicians are involved in every step of knee osteoarthritis (OA). PMR physicians are contributing usefully to the assessment and treatment of knee OA. The assessment is based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health as well as on the quantified assessment of gait and posture. PMR is involved in all the stages of knee OA treatment, using orthoses and efficient methods as local joint treatment, and appropriate efforts are consistently made to take patients’ occupational and social environment into account.
