Effect of nitrogen ,phosphorus and potassium on production of broccoli(Brassica oleraceea L. var. italica) cv. KTS-1

2002
A field experiment was conducted for two years at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat during Rabi season of 1998-99 and 1999-2000 to study the response of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on production of broccoli. The results revealed that out of the five treatments including control, treatment comprising of 200 kg N 120 kg P2O5 and 80 kg K2O/ha have the highest yield and better quality in terms of protein and chlorophyll. Moreover, the leaf N, P. and K content also increased with the higher levels of nutrient application and there was a build up in the available N status of soil owing to the application of higher levels of N, P and K, but the soil available P and K status declined considerably.
