Bandwidth Enhancement of Complementary Split Ring Based Antenna

In this paper, we present a new compact CSRR based antenna loaded by rectangular slots for bandwidth enhancement. Simulated results shows that the impedance bandwidth of the proposed structure can reach an operating bandwidth of about 3.8% over a frequency range from 3.54 GHz to 3.68 GHz which represent an enhancement by four times in comparison with the same antenna without the added slots. Furthermore, it is found that the quasi-static resonance frequency of the compact antenna is essentially defined by geometrical parameters of the CSRR and slots, which makes it suitable for many wireless communication systems
